Fake Pilot AB (“Fake Pilot”, “we”, “us”) operates fakepilot.com and related services, including tools we use to publish content to our own social media channels (for example via a self-hosted scheduler).

This policy explains what personal data we may process and why. It is written to be clear and practical. It is not legal advice.

1. Who we are

2. What this site and our tools do

  • Website / membership / newsletter / shop: content, account, communication, and digital product purchases related to Fake Pilot.
  • Social publishing tools: we may connect our own company accounts (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X) through third-party APIs so we can schedule and publish Fake Pilot content. Those connections are for our owned channels, not for selling your personal data.

3. Data we may collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may process:

  • Contact details you send us (name, email, message content).
  • Account / membership data if you sign up (email, membership status, preferences).
  • Purchase data if you buy digital products (e.g. fonts): email, payment status, and order details processed via our payment provider (Stripe).
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device info, and pages visited (typical website analytics/logs).
  • Newsletter data if you subscribe (email, subscription status).

We do not sell personal data.

4. Why we process data (purposes)

  • To run and improve fakepilot.com
  • To answer enquiries and provide services
  • To fulfil digital purchases (e.g. font licenses) and related support
  • To send newsletters or membership updates you asked for

  • To publish and manage Fake Pilot’s own social content via connected platforms

Legal bases under GDPR may include: contract, legitimate interests (running our studio/site), and consent (e.g. marketing emails where required).

5. Third parties / processors

We may use trusted providers to host the site, email, payments, analytics, or social APIs (for example Ghost hosting, Cloudflare, email/payment providers such as Stripe, and social platforms such as Meta, LinkedIn, and X when we connect our own accounts).

Those providers process data according to their own terms and only as needed for the service.

6. Cookies and similar tech

We may use cookies or similar technologies for essential site function, preferences, security, and analytics. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

7. How long we keep data

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by law (e.g. accounting). Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or we delete inactive records. Purchase records may be kept for accounting and tax.

8. Your rights (EEA/UK and similar)

You may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

9. Children

Our services are not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it where appropriate.

10. Data deletion requests

To request deletion of personal data we hold about you, email [email protected] with the subject “Data deletion request” and enough detail for us to find your records (e.g. the email you used). We will respond within a reasonable time.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of the site after updates means you acknowledge the revised policy.
