Extinct

Sitting in my apartment, in a red sofa. Dark outside, autumn is coming. Just watched Red Sonja with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Brigette Nielsen, while eating thai food. Classic.

Got this comment in Swedish on my Ne-Yo animation, that made me think. I haven’t made a flash animation in 3-4 years, then I made these two intros. Something hit me, am I the only person in the world that makes flash intros? Who the hell does that, now-a-days? I did a search on Google, all I found was templates and cartoons.

I think most people stopped making that stuff 8 years ago. Reason one; it’s not easy earning money on it. Two, you have to make them really good for people to even be interested in looking at them. Mostly, they are just an annoying distraction. Three, now you can have video instead.

For the last years, I have been working for Menyou. Not doing flash animations, but concept development, interface design and all things that include co-founding a new internet service. I’m usually the one demonstrating our project for potential investors and partners. We are getting closer for going public with what it is and what we do. Can’t wait.

At the same time, during these years, something happened to the industry. All of a sudden you can make great looking video affordable with cameras like the Canon 7D. You can experiment and improvise a lot. So depending what happens with Menyou, doing video will either become a full time occupation or a hobby. Can’t wait for that either.

I have a backlog of stuff that I want to finish. Now after this website was updated, I want to finish the music video that I started on in Tokyo. Will take some time… Don’t feel I can go back to Japan without finishing it…

This is new!

Took my time moving and resetting all my projects into WordPress this weekend and with a new design. Feels good… Finally. It’s been in my backlog way to long. So to sum up:

• Blog have moved to Fakepilot.com first page.
• 2 New flash animation projects up: FDM and Ne-Yo.
• White is the new black.
• The menu is now on the left side, with drop downs built in.
• My site is now liquid: all blog posts and projects, roll up depending on how large your screen is. It’s kinda unique for a blog, never seen it before.
• You can now comment projects, please do!
• Ongoing, new and a few featured projects will show up on the side of the first page.
• New flash video player with fullscreen option.
• Moved some of the project I’m most ashamed of to Archives.
• Added Free-doom News to Archives.

That’s all I can think of right now. Did put this up in a bit of a haste, so if you encounter errors of some sort, please send me an e-mail or in the comments!

My blog + My portfolio = WordPress

Updates , , , , ,

So my website was attacked by malware, some evil hackers or something got into my site and started changing my code. Google stopped visitors from seeing my website, which in turn led me to panic a bit. Started searching for malicious code everywhere, but didn’t find any. Found a new user in my WordPress admin called JohnnyB. Deleted him. Then I contacted my web host, MediaTemple. They in turn, made some search and found all kinds of malicious code. They deleted it and I have changed passwords. Google is no longer warning for malware. Cool…

Ying and yang, in all evil comes something good. Think that I previously mentioned that I was going to move my portfolio to nicely designed CargoCollective. Well, not anymore. During the Google warning sign days, I started preparing a new blog at another URL. Then my portfolio got hit as well and I started adding pages on that blog for my work. It worked great! So I have a deeper understanding of how WordPress works now and I found it even better than Cargo, so I’m going to change my whole site into a base out of WordPress. Every project will have their own page, etc. Design will be updated and some other features, like the blog on the first page instead with new, featured & ongoing projects on the side.

Yup, that’s about it for now.

Banana man

Evolution and man made the banana into what it is today. If you do a little searching on the web or in history books, you would find that it was created in 1836, not 6.000 years ago by God or whenever you think everything was created.

“The yellow sweet banana is a mutant strain of the cooking banana, discovered in 1836 by Jamaican Jean Francois Poujot, who found one of the banana trees on his plantation was bearing yellow fruit rather than green or red. Upon tasting the new discovery, he found it to be sweet in its raw state, without the need for cooking. He quickly began cultivating this sweet variety.”

Super dream

Dreams , , ,

Dreamt fantastically splendid this morning. You know, self-consciously. I was at this incredibly beautiful place; with mountains, waterfalls, flowers and large rivers … No, that explanation doesn’t cut it. Combine a tropical rainforest with the Norwegian fjords. Yeah, that’s more like it. Humming-birds, flamingos, blazing sun, cool southing water flowing down from mountain hills. Anyways, I was able to sweep across everything, like a bird in the sky, hovering and then land on the side of the flourishing hills. I was so impressed by the detail I saw, how can my mind create all of this? I couldn’t believe it, it was so rich in detail. To test whether I was dreaming, I looked closer and closer into a big red flower; the details was as with macro lenses instead of binoculars – this cannot be a dream I tried to convince myself, but it just must be. I looked deeper and deeper, eventually it started to come out bubbles, like in the glass of sparkling water. Now I realized that I was dreaming and that I now had the possibility to control my dreams. I was totally fascinated and enjoyed the view. I didn’t wake up directly, but could continue to stroll around in my dream. Alarm rings!
